Albenga is an ancient medieval town on the sea with an important historical center.Among the many things to visit, certain of these merit a special mention: the 12th century church of S. Maria in Fontibus, the Baptistery which rises next to the Cathedral of S. Michele, and the famous three Towers.
The hinterland is characterized by beautiful ancient villages such as Castelvecchio of Fortress Barbena and La Colletta, and by delicious culinary specialties, all to be savoured in the many characteristic inns and restaurants.
In the proximities they deserve a visit the caves of Toirano (Toirano to about 20 minutes of auto) and the vital Alassio, with the beautiful beaches of sand, the numerous places for the fun and the Budello, the maximum one for the shopping.
Curiosity might lead visitors to explore Montecarlo, famous all over the world for its splendor and luxury, and to visit magnificent Genoa with its immense historical center and its very beautiful and modern aquarium (both cities are around 90 kilometers of BORGOMARE).
For your children, in Genova there is also a splendid "museum" called "The City of Children (La Città dei Bambini)", where your children can have a wonderful time with many games and experiments.
Always for your smallest ones (but not only!), and just a few minutes away from BORGOMARE, there is a fabulous aquatic park at Ceriale, "Le Caravelle", where you will pass many exciting and fun-filled hours.
Golfers will be very interested in knowing that there is an important golf course in Garlenda, which is only a few kilometers from Albenga. You will also find a riding school in Garlenda where one can enjoy beautiful horseback rides.
Bicycle lovers can give themselves a challenge by climbing some of the hearty roads and trails, choosing from among the many routes that our hinterland offers.
